Are you successful, but don’t have the health and body you want?

I’ve been talking to a lot of women lately, and I keep hearing the same story over and over again and let me just say, I am totally frustrated on your behalf!
We are all smart enough to know how important it is to stay fit and healthy, especially at our age, but it seems like every piece of advice requires a total life overhaul that NO one has time for. 
It breaks my heart to hear from women who are so successful and have everything they want . . . except the dream body to go with it. 
I’ve heard all the struggles. I know it can be tough to squeeze in workouts. And I know you’ve tried everything from the starvation diet to Zumba to the Ab Roller (do they make those anymore?!) to build muscle and burn fat. And when we don’t see quick results, our enthusiasm fizzles. I know because I’ve been there and I’ve worked with tons of women who have been there, too.
The truth is, we waste so much time chasing all these crazy get fit fast ideas instead of focusing on what’s really important. But the truth is, none of that stuff is sustainable because it requires too much of one thing that no one likes to do
SACRIFICE!
That’s why once you hit 40 or 50, you’ve got to make it a lifestyle that you LOVE, not a fad that fades in a week.
Having time always seems to be the problem, right? I mean, you hear about everyone planning out all these healthy meals for their whole family and doing yoga, warming up, running, lifting, cooling down, visiting the sauna and finally taking a nice long shower so they can look like super models. Who seriously has time for all that? It’s discouraging.
But it doesn’t have to be!
You can look in the mirror and feel good about yourself. It can take as little as 15 minutes a day! The key is figuring out YOUR personal triggers. YOUR personal exercise plan that fits into your crazy schedule. You can’t hop on a cookie cutter one size fits all trend and hope to get and keep the weight off.
You need it to work for YOU.
This is an unusual approach for me, but I’m going to open up this email to take your questions! Not one of my health coaches, me personally answering your question! Just tell me the number one thing you struggle with and I’ll give you at least one strategy you can try to start feeling better about the body you live in!

Why You Shouldn’t Miss a Saturday Workout

Most people would rather spend Saturdays resting or going out to unwind after a long week.
Except, well that could be a mistake. Capping off your week with a heavy dose of sweat can give you a boatload of health benefits.
I know what you’re thinking — you’ve already done your weekday workouts. But here are seven reasons you shouldn’t miss that Saturday sweat session. Trust me, you would want to load up on those cardio-induced endorphins for the weekend. I know I do!!!
1. You’ll have more room to play. 
You’re not the only one thinking about skipping the gym on a Saturday. So that works in your favor.
The smaller the class, the more room to do those yoga poses and get one-on-one instruction from trainers.
2. You’ll smile a whole lot more.
It’s easy to sleep in, yes, but getting jacked up on exercise-high endorphins will help put a smile on that face.
3. You’ll be super productive all day.
Having a cup of joe in the morning may give you the boost you need to get your day started, but it’s nothing like what a workout high can offer. A study shows that high-impact exercise, like running, improves learning and performance on memory tests. Who knew that a little sweat and a few smiles was all you needed to boost your brain chemicals like dopamine and your energy and creativity.
4. Your confidence will skyrocket.
Even a five-minute walk outdoors could help improve your mood, so you can strut your stuff feeling all sorts of sociable.
5. You’ll sleep better.
Those who get in at least 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity each week report a 65 percent improvement in sleep quality, plus they feel less sleepy throughout the day. Getting in a Saturday workout will make your Sunday morning zzz’s that much better. 
6. You’ll keep those weekend cravings in check.
You know that moment when you’ve been eating on point all week, but you find yourself caving to craving after craving? A Saturday workout can help keep those rumblings in check. High-intensity exercise could help curb food cravings and help you make better choices throughout the weekend.
7. You can relax.
At the end of the day, fitting in your sweat sessions during the first part of the weekend gives you the option to take a rest days on the Sunday if you need one. Experts say it’s important to allow those exercise-induced micro-tears in your muscles to heal — so you can come back stronger than ever.

Happy Easter and Passover! ? Plus Stress Awareness Tips

 

When you’re stressed, it makes sense that eating well and working out regularly aren’t on top of your to-do list. And naturally, that would make you more likely to gain weight! 
Yes, stress alone can make the number on the scale go up. When you’re stressed out, your body wants to defend itself, so it starts to retain body weight. Even if you’re exercising regularly and eating well the way you always have, you can still gain weight because your body is trying to prevent an unseen threat. 
Usually with chronic stress you’ll see stress can be associated with losing your job or going through a terrible breakup, not the kind that comes from having a bad day at work.
Stress can skew your perception of things, so it’s possible to think that you’re eating and working out the same but in reality you’re eating more and working out less.
Here are some simple tips to help manage stress and reduce your stress levels:
1. Swap caffeinated and alcoholic drinks for water, herbal teas, or diluted natural fruit juices and aim to keep yourself hydrated as this will enable your body to cope better with stress.
2. When you feel stressed and tense, go for a brisk walk in fresh air. Try to incorporate some physical activity into your daily routine on a regular basis, either before or after work, or at lunchtime. Regular physical activity will also improve the quality of your sleep.
3. You should also aim to go to bed at roughly the same time each day so that your mind and body get used to a predictable bedtime routine.
4. Each day, try to relax with a stress reduction technique.  There are many tried and tested ways to reduce stress so try a few and see what works best for you.
5. Talk to someone. Talking can work by either distracting you from your stressful thoughts or releasing some of the built-up tension by discussing it.

My Secret On How To Stay Lean and Healthy

Getting rid of fat is not just about the food you’re eating, it’s also about portion size and how often you eat.
One of the most popular eat-for-fat-loss strategies today which is also the way I’m currently eating is callled Intermittent Fasting.
Some people think it’s starvation. But what is it really? And how does it work?
The ‘IF’ Life
Intermittent fasting (IF) is an eating pattern where you cycle between periods of eating and fasting.
Your meal contents during eating periods won’t be a factor. Some cycle between eating and fasting each day, creating a small window for eating and fasting for at least 16 hours, while others cycle eating and fasting across several days, taking as much as 48 hours at a time to fast.
Pros: Research shows that fasting produces benefits for disease prevention, metabolic health, weight loss and even life extension. Some find it less work to fast rather than to plan for several small meals. During eating periods you get to eat whatever you want.
Cons: Abstaining from nourishment for long periods of time can be challenging, especially when food is all around you. Socially it can be awkward to skip meals while your friends and family break bread together. Some find themselves overeating during eating cycles, and some find the ongoing absence of food to aggravate food obsession and to produce an unbalanced focus on food.
Remember that when it comes down to you choosing your own eating strategy it’s important to determine what will work best with your lifestyle. The key is to choose a plan for restricting calories that you would realistically be motivated to stick with. And the more wholesome the content of those restricted calories, the better and quicker your results will come!
