I want to help end the trend of obesity so people can thrive and not suffer preventable disease like diabetes and heart disease and many cancers and autoimmune diseases.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Lisa Goldenthal, transformational weight loss and fitness coach. Clients come to Lisa with an immediate goal of losing weight, and in the process they end up gaining unstoppable confidence.

Thank you so much for doing this with us! What is your “backstory”?

I am a certified life coach, lifestyle and weight management coach. My passion for my business comes from a very personal perspective on health — I know first-hand how your body will look and feel when you have an unhealthy relationship with food, and how tough it is to change bad habits by yourself!

I used to weigh 15 pounds more than I weigh now, and while that might not seem like a lot, I hated the way I looked. I used to tell myself because I worked out, I could eat anything I wanted, but the truth is, I wasn’t eating sensibly, nor was I eating a healthy diet.

I developed an unhealthy pattern of dieting every single time I knew I was going to be photographed or be seen on the beach. It was frustrating and exhausting to be on the diet yo-yo, and made me feel like a failure and a fraud. Here I was, helping others with diet and exercise, but I had to work twice as hard to stay fit because my habits were sabotaging my hard work. How could I keep teaching clients about wellness when I myself wasn’t practicing healthy habits?

Fast forward, and I discovered my 6-Step weight loss system that combined science, emotion, and intelligent strategy. With myself as the first success story, I knew I could help other people too.

Can you share the funniest or most interesting story that happened to you since you started your company

I thought it would take one year to start my online business — was I ever wrong! It takes years, sacrifice, a mindset shift and many set- backs and sleepless nights to push forward. That is the part the people on the webinars never mention.

What do you think makes your company stand out?

I am in my fifties and am taking a stand that you can look like me at any age, I believe that with the proper diet and exercise you can survive and thrive and rock out your skinny jeans at any age.

Can you share a story?

I created a DVD that was sold in Target and featured as one of the top 10 in- home workout DVD’s by life and Style magazine. It features shorter workouts for busy people to take away the excuse factor.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are?

I am grateful for all the mistakes I made along the way for making me the person I am today. I am grateful for my friends, family and clients that have helped me hang in there through the entrepreneurial journey. I am especially grateful to have had the coaches along the way that have inspired me Shanda Sumpter, Amy Yamada, Mike Koenigs, Matt Leitz my Bot Builder, my virtual assistants, copywriters and best friend Jaki who have helped inspire me to push through.

Are you working on any exciting projects now?

I am super excited to be writing a book about my six step system to permanent weight loss and it will be released by January 2019. I am also doing destination, team building and weight loss retreats. I am having fun creating a facebook robot to talk to people on messenger

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I try to inspire people daily with my free content across all my social media networks. I do FaceBook Lives weekly on my Meal Prep Monday Show, inspiring everyone that healthy eating can be fun and delicious and I have helped people lose 60 to 100 pounds which is incredibly inspiring and gratifying all around I feel I did help save their life and certainly give them their life back. I want to help end the trend of obesity so people can thrive and not suffer preventable disease like diabetes and heart disease and many cancers and autoimmune diseases.

Do you have a favorite book that made a deep impact on your life? Can you share a story?

Tony Robbins Personal Power is my favorite book of all time. I have literally been driving around listening to his book for the last ten years. If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.” — Tony Robbins

What are your “5 things I wish someone told me before I started my company” and why. Please share a story or example for each.

I wish people told me I needed patience. I was told to build my email list I just needed to interview 20 influencers and do a webinar to get sales. There was a lot of struggle along that path especially my early webinars the technology really stressed me out.

I wish someone could tell you to never quit on yourself right after the biggest struggles come the sweetest victories. I’ll never forget the time I was coming back from a trip to Cabo without unplugged, and as soon as we landed my PayPal was blowing up with sales for my Skinny Jeans Workout.

I wish I had the patience to realize all good things take time to build. Hang in there is what I would encourage all start- ups like me that are self funded. The struggle is real but makes you come out stronger on the other side!

I wish someone told me that you have to spend as much money on marketing as you do on the project itself like my Skinny Jeans Workout for example.

I wish someone told me about the personal growth that is the most important part of starting a new business, that mindset is EVERYTHING.

Finally.. Don’t try to be a lone wolf out there- get coaching, it’s worth the investment and helps keep you accountable.

Some of the biggest names in Business, VC funding, Sports, and Entertainment read this column. Is there a person in the world, or in the US whom you would love to have a private breakfast or lunch with, and why? He or she might see this. 🙂

I would love to sit down for five minutes and interview Tony Robbins, Oprah and Gary Vee they are the people that I listen to when I hit a bump in the road and have to keep on pushing through.

This was very inspiring. Thank you so much for joining us!
