Does emotional eating controlling you?

I was just thinking about you!
You and I have probably crossed paths with “Emotional Eating” in one of the lowest points of our lives.
Emotional eating means you’re in a fight against how you’re feeling instead of stepping back, tuning in, and working WITH your emotions.
No amount of food will soothe feelings of sadness, frustration or anger.
You’ll get momentary food induced euphoria, only to feel worse because you’ve let yourself down and sabotaged your weight loss efforts….. again.

These simple actions will help you develop the consistency and accountability you need to reach your health and fitness goals.

1. Grab a notebook or journal and start recording your vision of what an ideal routine would look like. What time you want to wake up, which meals you have planned for the day, exercises scheduled, etc. Developing this habit is the first step to establishing consistency.

2. Print a calendar or draw one on a chalkboard or whiteboard. Each day you follow-through with your set schedule, give yourself a star. 🙂

3. Recruit a friend. Goals are best when followed in pairs or groups, so buddy up and encourage your friends to start their new healthy routines.

4. Schedule your FREE accountability call with me NOW. I have a few spots left, so CLICK HERE and let’s talk ASAP. I’d love to discuss your short-term goals, as well as your overall vision for 2017. I’m here to help in any way that I can, so CLICK HERE and we’ll chat this week.

5. Join our FREE Facebook Community for daily support and accountability. We’re all in this together, so let’s post daily on our progress and help to encourage and motivate one another.

I want you to take a moment to really think about your health and fitness goals. Close your eyes and picture yourself at your ideal weight. Now, we’re going to work backwards and set some tangible goals to help you achieve that end result you’re envisioning.

This should be fun – I’m excited.

Do you keep the promises you make to yourself?

I’m guessing you’re a kind and trustworthy person, and that when you make a promise to someone, you keep it!
But I have to ask… do you keep the promises you make to yourself?
Have you told yourself one too many times, “I am NOT going to eat between meals,” or “I am definitely going to start getting up early to squeeze in a workout,” and then totally let yourself down?
No judgment, I’ve done it too in the past, but it saddens me that so many women value themselves less than they value other people.
And it’s the worst around the holidays! Too many party invites. A little whipped cream in your latte, a plate of cookies at the office, nibbling on candy canes, and sipping mulled wine and eggnog. Mouth-watering as that may be, you don’t want to be permanently confined to baggy pants for the next month because you didn’t keep your promises to yourself!
It’s so tempting to give up and leave the healthy diet or weight loss but that’s not your style. When you start something, you stick with it, at least in every other area of your life and this should be different!
And I know you can do it!
You want to rock that swimsuit, right? You want to be confidentnot carb-overloaded.
You want to start LIVING as the best version of yourself.
The one who feels like a million bucks, looks like a million bucks and (hey why not) is on her way to maybe manifesting a million bucks!
So remember the promise you make to yourself.
Healthy and strong.
Fit and focused.
You got this!
Treats are exactly that: treats. That means that having only one makes it special, so savor it! I promise, you’ll thank yourself in a couple weeks when you can still slip on your favorite cocktail dress.

Are you just fine?

Recently, a friend told me that her husband always knows something is up when he asks how her day is and she responds with “fine.” That’s a big red flag for him! He knows he’s about to hear a story about something that happened at work or with the kids that flipped her world upside down. He also knows that she’s trying to hide it. She doesn’t want to unload on him, but he knows that something is wrong.

What about when you say it? When someone asks you how your day is or how you feel, do you answer “fine”? Better yet, ask yourself this: do I want to just say that I’m fine, or do I want something better?

What’s better? I’m awesome, great, fantastic, beautiful, amazing!

Here’s the thing: when we say that we are “fine,” it gets us stuck in complacency.

We sacrifice the chance to say, “I’m fantastic!”

Let’s look at some parts of your life that you can upgrade from fine to amazing, so you can be honest about how you really feel—
1. Eating — Ever a sticking point with those changing to a healthy lifestyle, eating habits can sometimes make or break us. You don’t have to get what everyone else is getting. “That’s fine.” You don’t have to get the “healthiest” thing on the menu if it’s not something you would like. No! Make a conscious effort for “great”! What will fuel your body healthily, satisfy your hunger, AND taste delicious? Making healthy, conscious decisions about what we eat is FABULOUS! You are in control of making your body and mind feel good, and that’s always better than “fine.”

2. Exercise — It can be so hard to fit this in among all our other obligations! Trust me, I’ve heard a lot of excuses for not exercising. Think about it this way: exercising isn’t just for weight loss. It’s for maintaining a healthy heart. It’s for toning muscle. It’s massively important to combat things like high cholesterol or osteoporosis. AND it’s great for your mood. Really! Use exercise as an opportunity to change your day from “fine” to “fantastic,” because of all the wonderful things it is doing for you, even if you have to work in short sessions throughout the day. You are choosing better! Some exercise is better than nothing at all.

3. Rest — Few adults get adequate rest. It seems to be the last thing that we think about, the thing we do when all the other things are done. But, it is another crucial component to feeling better than “fine.” When our bodies are rested, we feel refreshed. Our brains are functioning! We can address our daily tasks with more ease. It can keep us from feeling frazzled and stressed.

Tonight, really think about how much rest makes you feel good, and make a point of going to bed on time. Allow that time for yourself, and keep it sacred. It’s part of refilling your cup so you can pour into others. No one can pour from an empty cup! Rest will start you with a better outlook so you can easily move the needle from “fine” to “beautiful” . . . because isn’t that what you want life to be?
If you find yourself floundering, then let me help you with direction. Though it may seem simple when you read about how to leap beyond fine, getting some help from someone whose mission is moving clients from ‘fine’ to ‘fit and fantastic’ is priceless!
