These simple actions will help you develop the consistency and accountability you need to reach your health and fitness goals.
1. Grab a notebook or journal and start recording your vision of what an ideal routine would look like. What time you want to wake up, which meals you have planned for the day, exercises scheduled, etc. Developing this habit is the first step to establishing consistency.
2. Print a calendar or draw one on a chalkboard or whiteboard. Each day you follow-through with your set schedule, give yourself a star. 🙂
3. Recruit a friend. Goals are best when followed in pairs or groups, so buddy up and encourage your friends to start their new healthy routines.

What are you willing to give up to lose weight?
Losing weight safely is a combination of these important factors — from healthy eating, working out, determination, mindset and patience. There’s no single magic formula to losing weight, baby steps and little changes make a big difference in permanent weight loss. So, I want to know! What did you give up that really kickstarted your progress? Uhm, maybe you’ve finally decided to give up alcohol and that made a huge difference for you. Or maybe you ditched watching too much Netflix because it always cost you time when you were supposed to go to the gym! Or you challenged yourself to cut out dessert or any sweets for a week just to see how it would go. Or you actually stopped obsessing on your weekly weigh-ins because the scale was putting you on edge! Tell me what you did — whether it was a food/drink or habit or attitude — that really helped with your weight loss. And I’ll tell you what’s mine! Just hit comment! |

Life can be stressful and sometimes we forget to take a pause from all the hustle and bustle of daily living. If you’ve got nowhere to go for the weekend, take the opportunity to find the time to unwind through disconnection. One of the most amazing things happens when you disconnect from your phone, tablet, computer, and television—the pace of life seems to slow down exponentially. When you are not forced to be on call for the world, you can begin to be on call for your soul. Disconnecting from electronics provides space to explore the call of the spirit, the messages of the soul, and the communication of your inner guide. To a device-free, stress-free and peaceful weekend! |

Recently, a friend told me that her husband always knows something is up when he asks how her day is and she responds with “fine.” That’s a big red flag for him! He knows he’s about to hear a story about something that happened at work or with the kids that flipped her world upside down. He also knows that she’s trying to hide it. She doesn’t want to unload on him, but he knows that something is wrong.
What’s better? I’m awesome, great, fantastic, beautiful, amazing!
We sacrifice the chance to say, “I’m fantastic!”

Having a rough week? Whether you’re stressed, overwhelmed or feeling anxious, it’s never a bad time to give yourself some TLC.
After all, you get to be the best version of yourself when you take care of your well-being first! You can easily handle challenges at work, you can be a better friend and family member, and even share your positive energy to the world. Weekend is the best time to do self-care practices as you have more extra hours of alone time. Take advantage of this weekend to unwind, energize and let go any stress. 1. Have a spa day. This is not your usual all-the-time kind of self-care but in case you’re feeling like you need some extra TLC and your mental state isn’t doing well, this could be the perfect time for a spa day. Detox and unwind in the sauna or hot tub. 2. Spend an hour in meditation. A daily 10-minute practice is great, but sometimes turning your mind away from hectic thoughts for longer periods can be extremely powerful and do wonders for your health. 3. Go for a long walk outside. Being with nature can be incredibly calming. A quiet walk in the sun can do wonders for your mood. Get moving, get the blood flowing, and take some time to find peace. 4. Get a massage. Taking care of your muscles is great for your health and well-being. 5. Try a 90-minute yoga practice. You might not have time during the week to take those extra 30 minutes for stretching, restoring, and meditation — but on the weekend, you totally can! 6. Turn off your phone for a day. Try to do a digital detox even for a day. Disconnect from technology and turn off all work-related business. If that’s impossible, try deleting all your social media apps just for a day — see how you feel when there’s no pressure from the outside world. 7. Take a long bath. Soak in some salts, even get yourself a fancy bath bomb, light a candle, maybe even pour a glass of wine! This is your time, so soak it all in, and don’t feel bad about lingering! 8. Make your favorite meals. Workweek is too hectic and draining to prepare meals. The weekend is the perfect time to get a few calm hours for you to make whatever the heck brings you joy. 9. Sleep in. If you’ve been deprived of some zzz’s during the workweek, taking naps and sleeping in is the best way to catch up on the weekend and take care of yourself. Cheers to a stress-free weekend! |
