Life can be stressful and sometimes we forget to take a pause from all the hustle and bustle of daily living. If you’ve got nowhere to go for the weekend, take the opportunity to find the time to unwind through disconnection. One of the most amazing things happens when you disconnect from your phone, tablet, computer, and television—the pace of life seems to slow down exponentially. When you are not forced to be on call for the world, you can begin to be on call for your soul. Disconnecting from electronics provides space to explore the call of the spirit, the messages of the soul, and the communication of your inner guide. To a device-free, stress-free and peaceful weekend! |

Recently, a friend told me that her husband always knows something is up when he asks how her day is and she responds with “fine.” That’s a big red flag for him! He knows he’s about to hear a story about something that happened at work or with the kids that flipped her world upside down. He also knows that she’s trying to hide it. She doesn’t want to unload on him, but he knows that something is wrong.
What’s better? I’m awesome, great, fantastic, beautiful, amazing!
We sacrifice the chance to say, “I’m fantastic!”

Having a rough week? Whether you’re stressed, overwhelmed or feeling anxious, it’s never a bad time to give yourself some TLC.
After all, you get to be the best version of yourself when you take care of your well-being first! You can easily handle challenges at work, you can be a better friend and family member, and even share your positive energy to the world. Weekend is the best time to do self-care practices as you have more extra hours of alone time. Take advantage of this weekend to unwind, energize and let go any stress. 1. Have a spa day. This is not your usual all-the-time kind of self-care but in case you’re feeling like you need some extra TLC and your mental state isn’t doing well, this could be the perfect time for a spa day. Detox and unwind in the sauna or hot tub. 2. Spend an hour in meditation. A daily 10-minute practice is great, but sometimes turning your mind away from hectic thoughts for longer periods can be extremely powerful and do wonders for your health. 3. Go for a long walk outside. Being with nature can be incredibly calming. A quiet walk in the sun can do wonders for your mood. Get moving, get the blood flowing, and take some time to find peace. 4. Get a massage. Taking care of your muscles is great for your health and well-being. 5. Try a 90-minute yoga practice. You might not have time during the week to take those extra 30 minutes for stretching, restoring, and meditation — but on the weekend, you totally can! 6. Turn off your phone for a day. Try to do a digital detox even for a day. Disconnect from technology and turn off all work-related business. If that’s impossible, try deleting all your social media apps just for a day — see how you feel when there’s no pressure from the outside world. 7. Take a long bath. Soak in some salts, even get yourself a fancy bath bomb, light a candle, maybe even pour a glass of wine! This is your time, so soak it all in, and don’t feel bad about lingering! 8. Make your favorite meals. Workweek is too hectic and draining to prepare meals. The weekend is the perfect time to get a few calm hours for you to make whatever the heck brings you joy. 9. Sleep in. If you’ve been deprived of some zzz’s during the workweek, taking naps and sleeping in is the best way to catch up on the weekend and take care of yourself. Cheers to a stress-free weekend! |

There’s no such thing as eating food that can make you look younger and feel healthier overnight. But over time, getting the right nutrients can make a difference! Here are 5 superfoods that can help you lose weight, boost your heart health and give your skin a nice healthy glow.
You know what they say: real beauty comes from the inside! We could say the same for good health.
When you eat right, exercise daily, get enough sleep and learn how to manage stress, you’ll start to look and feel your best.
Not sure where to start? Simply start with these five foods below.
1. Oats
Talk about a superfood! Research shows the feel-full fiber in whole-grain oats can help you eat less and lose weight. In one study, eating oats helped people trim their waists and lose overall body fat. They also keep your skin healthy, too, with nutrients like copper, zinc and niacin.
2. Wild Salmon
Salmon has a lot of health benefits, and wild salmon in particular is one fantastic fish. It contains astaxanthin, a type of antioxidant that helps prevent heart disease by lowering cholesterol. Salmon can help with weight loss as well. Studies suggest their omega-3s can help reduce belly fat.
3. Blueberries
These tasty little gems are higher in antioxidants than nearly any other food, delivering powerful heart-healthy benefits. And because antioxidants help prevent and slow sun damage, eating blueberries is a way to help your skin look younger, too. Also, their fiber helps you feel full, so you eat less, potentially losing weight!
4. Avocados
Researchers found that the avocado eaters weighed less, had less belly fat and showed a much lower risk of metabolic syndrome, a group of symptoms that can lead to diabetes and heart disease compared to the non-avocado fans. Avocados are packed with vitamins C, E and K, all important for skin health. Plus, the healthy fat in avocados may help prevent wrinkles, while other nutrients help reduce sun damage.
5. Walnuts
Walnuts may be high in calories but, they’re also soaring in nutrients! Walnuts have more ALA, the heart-healthy omega-3 found in plants, than any other plant food. They’re also high in protein and fiber, both of which can help you lose weight. Walnuts with their antioxidants can also slow aging, while vitamin E, zinc and selenium help nourish and protect.
Try eating them now for a healthier, fitter and awesome body!
